Columbus

In my research paper I will be evaluating the impact of Christopher Columbus and his voyages. I will try to convince my reader that Columbus had a positive impact on history. This is due to his large impact on economy and his increasing of globalization by causing the age of exploration. I will also address the counter argument that he had a negative impact due to his causing of many racial stereotypes.        Columbus did many things in his voyages that had positive impacts on the world. I would have to say that the best thing he did was inspiring other explorers causing the age of exploration. This caused huge changes in economy and increased global knowledge a ton. Columbus did many great things even though he was far from perfect.

Reading Response.

The book Absolutely true diary of a part time Indian is a lot better of a book so far than I expected it to be. It actually has been funny to an extent. I wouldn't call it one of the funniest or most enjoyable books that I've read but I didn't choose it. So for the standards of a book that we are required to read for school it is surprisingly good.        The book has gotten a lot more interesting since he went to school at Reardan and the book has changed a lot. Junior is no longer really bullied ever since he punched Roger in the face. Instead in Reardan no one really pays attention to him and it seems to get on his nerves almost just as much. When he makes a friend who is even smarter than he is though his life seems to get flipped upside down. So far it is a good book that I have enjoyed reading,

Free post

Over the weekend I went to a church retreat in Mississippi called Polar Thang. It is a very fun retreat and I think that it is either my third or fourth year going to it. It is always on the Martin Luther King weekend even though the retreat ends on the Sunday. It is about a three hour bust ride that is fun and goes by pretty quickly on the way there and back.        While we were there our usual polar plunge was cancelled because it was colder than usual even though I would not have been doing it anyway. I have done that already and it was miserable and it is not happening again. There was another church there that was from Mississippi and had very funny accents. It is overall a pretty great retreat that I will go on again next year.

Research update

My research topic for this project is the impact of Christopher Columbus. At first it was very hard to find the kind of information I was looking for but then I continued to find better articles that were more useful to my cause.  Ever since then everything has been going pretty smoothly. The annotated bibliography was very easy to do and it helped me analyze how I am going to answer my research question and what articles I am going to use to back up my answer.        I am still sort of nervous about the notecards but as I start to do them it will get easier. But having  just done three it is pretty easy to do considering the fact that I found some sources for information that I need. The research went well and the organization is still a bit stressful yet it is very easy.

Semester reflection

This semester I have learned multiple things. The first of those is that you have to get a lot of sleep every night. You feel so much better in the morning so you can get to school on time. It also helps you to pay attention in class more and remember assignments which leads to better grades.        The second thing that I learned is that you have to check the calendar every night even when you are 99% sure that there is nothing you don't know about assignments. That brought my grade down a ton especially in Spanish. I lost many points in classes and that will not be happening during the second semester.      The most important thing that I have learned in the first semester is that time management is very important. Teachers in high school do not need to monitor everything you do to make sure you are on task. If you do not manage your time in class then you have more homework and you have no one to blame but yourself. Those are the most important things that I have le

Gregory: Describe what utopia looks like and why

A utopia looks looks like a place where everyone believes that they have a purpose and is happy with that purpose. If everyone in life truly believed that they had a greater purpose in life people would be so much happier. In a utopia government is not a necessary evil and the people will be completely in control. In a utopia we have equality of opportunity even more than we do now and we don't all finish the same but we start that way.        In a utopia it might not even be acknowledged by everyone as one but every one is happy. Everyone is also in control of themselves and their destiny. There is also no government for people to complain about for other people not agreeing with them. A utopia might not be considered perfect by everyone because there is no way for everyone to be happy but it would be pretty close.
